High Sierra Trail Volunteers spent three days cleaning up marijuana gardens planted inside Castle Rock State Park. The volunteers pulled irrigation tubing, took down campsites and removed tons of trash. The gardens degrade the environment, state parks officials say, and their numbers are growing. Sheriff's deputies reportedly pulled up more than 43,000 marijuana plants found on public and private lands in the county this year.
